INGL 102 is the second semester, first-year English language course offered to all students studying in a
4-year Turkish Medium Program. It is designed to help students improve the level of their English to
A1+, as specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The course focuses
on everyday communication through the use of basic vocabulary and grammar patterns. Students are
offered basic reading pieces and basic conversations in English, and oral communication is provided
that includes daily topics. In addition, the focus is on writing short texts by producing correct sentences
in terms of grammar. This course also introduces the students to the English language and aims to
develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in academic settings.
